Sticky prune tofu 😋
I decided to try veganiina ‘s chickpea tofu and it was absolutely amazing 🤩 I also added a bit of black salt and the outcome was so worth it. Such a great alternative for regular tofu 😋 Thanks for the inspiration!
I served the chickpea tofu with sticky prune sauce, which might have become my favorite sauce ever 😍 Of course it would work perfectly with regular tofu as well. Or even with smoked 😱
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp whole grain mustard
2 garlic cloves (minced)
Soak prunes in hot water for at least 20 minutes. Save the water for later, throw prunes into a blender, add soy sauce, mustard and minced garlic. Mix all ingredients together. If you feel like your sauce is too thick, add some of the water you soaked your prunes in and mix again.
Fry your tofu until it’s golden and crispy. Once it’s done, keep the pan on low heat and add your sauce. Keep stirring until your tofu is entirely covered with the sauce.
I served my tofu with fresh tomatoes, roasted broccoli, baked sweet potato fries, potato wedges, Polish dill pickles and red cabbage. The red cabbage was sautéed with onion and apples. If anyone is interested in the recipe for that, let me know 🤗
